Porthos is the name of the fun loving, wine drinking musketeer from "The Three Musketeers". No need for the wine - this boy is happy enough without that.
Along with his smaller brother Athos (there are only two musketeers available for adoption), these guys should not be trusted with swords or have to wear funny hats. If you need to tell the brothers apart, Porthos is the one who has black from the top of his nose, between his eyes, right up to the white patch on the top of his head.
What Porthos should do, however, is live with a nice family who will enjoy and love a friendly, independent easy young dog. He doesn't get what toys are for yet, but what a fun thing to teach the newest family member. What he especially likes is to have soft strokes down his back, from the top of his head, right to his tail. It sometimes makes him shiver, it feels so good!
Porthos walks nicely on a leash, but like all dogs and especially all dogs with a new family, you all will benefit from working on basic obedience with him. It just works best if everyone is working with the same game plan.
And this boy has a game plan - 1. Have a nice family find him and adopt him. 2. Go home and snuggle on a lap. 3. Explore 4. Snacks and either play or another lap. 5. Repeat forever!!!
Come to K-9 PALS at the County shelter and join up with Porthos for the game - you'll all come out winners. |
