| Chorizo |
Chihuahua mix Sex: neutered male Age: 3-5 yrs Size: 14 lbs |
Chorizo looks like a sturdy, athletic chihuahua until he turns to walk away from you. No tail. Not even a stub! Perhaps there is a little Pembroke Welsh Corgi in his mix. He's not telling, so it's a puzzle.
Mr.Cho is a sociable and nice little guy when he is out in the yard, cruising around and checking back in for treats. He has shown some protective behaviors when in the kennel, so may be that way in his home or territory.
Chorizo is a perfect candidate for basic obedience training. We always recommend training for our residents, but if Chorizo had someone who would commit to this, he would be able to give up being the one who has to protect and become the one who looks to his person to take care of problems.
This independent boy is not suitable to be around children or cats. Although he is somewhat resistant to handling, he loves to be scratched. Perhaps instead of treats, training can be made fun with scratch-fests. It just feels so GOOD!
Come to the County shelter and have a K-9 PALS volunteer show you where Chorizo is. Take a look at him out in the yard, give him a nice scratch. Perhaps the qualities you might need are consistency, commitment to training, love, and a good set of fingernails! Chorizo is waiting for that perfect match - and a scratch!
