Roo
German Shepherd mix
Sex: spayed female
Age: 6 mo
Size: 33 lbs
Roo and her sister obviously have a shepherd in their background, but there is something smaller and slimmer there, too.Perhaps a bit of a 'wild-thang' is going on??

This youngster was pretty shy when we first met her, but with volunteers taking her out to the yards, and visitors ooohing and aaaahing over her in the kennel, she has begun to come out to greet folks.

She's still a bit shy, but warms right up. Once she does, she is sweet, respectful and then wants to play or sit close and get body scratches. She is learning to fetch, and sweetly gives a toy back if you ask her. As our assessor said,"She should be a great dog." Lots more socialization work will do more wonders for this girl.

Basic obedience will be so helpful for Roo. She'll learn the rules and gain confidence in herself and her new family. She's willing and able to learn - she seems like a smart girl - but you have to commit to doing the training with her.

She'll was tested for cats, and although she was respectful, she wanted to play too much, so we don't recommend a kitty in the house. Because she is still pretty shy, any kids would have to be old enough to give her time to adjust, and be able to be patient. However, we know she likes to play with dogs and would probably love to have a dog friend - she is very bonded with her sister, so perhaps you're looking for a pair-o-pups??

So - here you go. Unique, ready to learn about the world, cute sister, sweet and a bit shy. Sounds like a good match for you if you're patient and want a work in progress. Come to the County Shelter and meet Roo. A K9 PALS volunteer will be happy to bring her out to you as soon as you have that adoption form filled out. She's waiting, you're wanting.... Let's do it!
