Special Note: To meet our mission statement, K-9 PALS needs volunteers for so many purposes, but fundraising and foster homes are critical to meeting our goals.
Foster Care. K-9 PALS Volunteers are needed to for providing foster homes to help care for our dogs who are generally seniors and dogs with special medical needs. Foster parents must be available to transport foster dogs to their vet appointments whenever needed. You must fill out a foster application and be approved to foster. Foster dogs are property of K-9 PALS and they must be in foster homes until permanent homes can be found for them. It is a very rewarding experience to provide a safe and loving home until an adoptive home is found for each dog. Please consider being part of our foster team! VOLUNTEERING IN OUR PARTNER SHELTERS
K-9 PALS Volunteers who want to volunteer in our county shelters to work hands-on with the shelter dogs must complete the specific requirements for volunteering in the shelters. K-9 PALS provides services for dogs in the three county animal shelters in Santa Barbara County. Having our volunteers also volunteer in the shelters is a tremendous advantage to K-9 PALS because then our volunteers have opportunity for hands-on experience with the shelter dogs we fundraise for, provide veterinary care for, provide promotions, events and other activities for, and also provide rescue and foster for.
Commmunity events for Shelter and rescue group dogs. Volunteers who are approved and trained to work with the dogs from the county shelter will be able to take adoptable dogs from those shelters to community events such as K-9 PALS fundraisers, adoption events, outreach events, responsible pet education events, and off-site day trips around the community.
